INTENSE PULSED LIGHT
The IPL PhotoFacial, or
what to expect?
Your laser technician will thoroughly cleanse your skin of debris. Then, a cool gel will be applied to the targeted treatment area, which works to prevent discomfort. During the session, one of our team members will carefully manipulate the laser across over the skin in a grid-like pattern, flashing the light about every centimeter. Depending on your goals, your laser technician may go over the area multiple times.
IPL PhotoFacial treatment calls for three to five treatment sessions spaced three or four weeks apart to obtain desired results. There are some cases where results can be seen after only the first session. The best results are usually seen three months after treatment. Keep in mind, sunscreen and skin care maintenance are essential to the longevity of the results.
HOW DOES IPL WORK?
IPL can treat skin damage from sun exposure, rosacea and other types of skin redness, pigmentation such as age spots and freckles, enlarged pores, acne scars, and age lines. IPL treatments can also be used to enhance the appearance of skin on the chest, neck, and hands.
IPL therapy emits multiple wavelengths of laser light onto the surface of the skin and effectively targets pigment-producing cells beneath the superficial layer. The light energy is converted to heat energy and destroys the hyperactive melanin-producing cells in layers of your skin, eventually fading pigmented areas.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
If you have seen the effects of aging on your skin or experience any of these other complexion concerns, IPL PhotoFacial sessions might be a good choice for you. Potential patients must have a willingness to maintain a treatment schedule until desired results are achieved and have realistic expectations in mind.
